How to display kids artwork and inspiration for my Family Session Giveaway!

Feb 5, 2019

My younger girls Isley + Haven are 8+6 and are always drawing us family pictures or just portraits of individuals in the family. Since all of the kids bring home artwork (except my 12 year old son, Ryder, he’s too cool, he’s in junior high;)) I can’t possibly save all of their work, so I just choose special things they have drawn and display them throughout our home. One way to do this is with an old rusted metal bed frame with springs and wooden clothespins. I love antique shopping and I found this bed frame at one of my favorite stores, http://www.marketplace3301.com. Such a fun and rustic way to display your art. Marketplace 3301 is the cutest and if you haven’t gone I highly suggest you go check it out. Another super simple way to display artwork is to just use 2 nails, a piece of string, and clothes pins. I have a couple of these below collages in my house (see in the image below).

A couple weeks ago Haven gave me a portrait of mom and it just got me thinking that a lot of you probably have beautiful family portraits that your children have drawn for you, but do you have a recent family portrait hanging on your wall from a professional photographer? I’m guessing if you are like normal parents with young children, the family portrait ranks low on your list of priorities next to activities, school, and just keeping everyone alive:). And isn’t it funny that especially as moms we keep telling ourselves that we will get those family pictures scheduled as soon as we lose some weight and look our best? We are too hard on ourselves! Get pictures taken with your kiddos, they are only young once and they don’t care that Mommy isn’t perfectly in shape. They just want to look back one day and see that they were loved and you will want to look back one day and see what life was like before it blew right past you and they all grew up:(. And don’t you worry, if you have a good photographer they will pose you to look your best – the camera can definitely add 10 lbs, but a good photographer can take away a few just by the way they have you stand. So don’t stress out about being in front of the camera.

Here is your opportunity to win a free family session and finally get images of you and your beautiful family on your walls and make some memories:). The session is a $600 value and includes a full family session (1 hour session) and you get all of the edited digital files from your session (around 50 images). It includes up to 6 people (if you win and have a larger family you can always pay the difference).

Entering is easy, just hop over to my Facebook business page https://www.facebook.com/mirandamurdockphotography/, like my page and then post a family picture that your child or children have drawn for you and tag me in the post. Or you can do the same on Instagram and just go to my insta page https://www.instagram.com/mirandamurdockphoto/, follow me, and also tag me when you post your drawing. That’s it! Entered and done! Entries need to be in by this Friday, February 8th at midnight and the winner will be drawn randomly and announced on Saturday February 9th.
